Visit

All Saints Church, Main Street
Aughton, YO42 4PG

The church itself is open during the summer usually between approximately 10am and 4pm. Please do sign the visitors book.

In winter it is only open at weekends between 10am and 4pm.

Please park on the village street, and walk to the end of the road where you will notice a wooden pedestrian gate on the right hand side. Proceed through the gate and the church will be found at the end of the green lane.

As you reach the bend in the green lane the mound on your right hand side is the site of the original motte and bailey castle.

If you wish to have guaranteed access inside the church, please email friendsofaughtonchurch@gmail.com  and we will try to arrange access for you.

The churchyard is also a very special place - do look out for the ancient newt engraved on the tower wall or the grave that dates from 1711. In the meadows beyond the  church wall you may see curlews, oyster catchers, herons, egrets, hares and deer, and possibly a barn owl.
